Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study - Redesign and restructure for a large, high profile client.

The Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study was looking for a redesign of their way outdated site. They were looking for more than a site, they needed a solution to help portray their mission to the world in a manner befitting a branch of Harvard.

Our designers came up with a fantastic design and everyone was very pleased with the outcome. This was our biggest project to date and we learned alot.

I mainly worked on the theme for this project; CSS and jQuery. I also was able to get some experience creating content types, page templates, and writing pre-precess functions.

Biggest part of the project for me; going to be working on the mobile version. Right now we are looking at jQuery Mobile but haven’t ruled out a home baked solution.

Bay State Physical Therapy came to Digital Loom looking for a redesign of their current site. They mostly wanted a more up-to-date design but also a platform for them to be able to regularly publish content.

We were able provide them an updated design and an easily maintainable site.

I worked on the Drupal theme and front end for this project. I also assisted in some of the information architecture.

Rens Welding - The tough job specialists needed help with a tough job.

Rens Welding came to Digital Loom looking for a simple solution for an online presence.

We were able to put together a plan for them for a site that would not only provide an impressive online face for the company but also a tool that they could easily manage.

I worked on the Drupal theme for them.

Was trying to find a way to provide a solution for a client that allows a user to click a link and send the URL of the current page via email. I looked into a few solutions like Add To Any on Lockerz but these were all “jucket”, crappy 3rd party solutions.

Low and below, Google leads me to the solution below.

Homepage Search, First Round - Google-ish website search functionality

This was created as a prototype search feature for a homepage. Was told to try an emulate the Google experience as far as how the results are displayed. Results are broken down into sections, either areas of the site or by media type and allows registered users to quickly access the info they are looking for while giving unregistered users a glimpse over the wall.

In anticipation of a redesign for our messaging app I put together this prototype.

Simple email interface with some usual stuff missing as this is not a true email app but a secure messaging app in a closed system.

I was given a not so subtle hint that the new Google email theme was “sexy”. I used this as inspiration.

What is presented here is my first pass at the “inbox” screen. One idea I have had for a long time when asked to think about this project is a preview mode. Since this is a closed system I feel like we have more control over the data that is sent back and forth and feel like this could be a nice touch t the traditional inbox you and I have know forever.

There are a few bugs, mostly with the jQuery as I am learning as I go, but for a first pass at a prototype I feel I get the idea across pretty well.
